Cushion Fill Options
Foam cushions are by far the most common type of insert used in upholstery. They come in a variety of densities and firmness levels, making them versatile and easy to customize for different preferences. Foam is labeled with "HR" (High Resilience) followed by a number, such as HR28 or HR34. A lower number represents a foam with a lower density, while a higher number indicates a foam with medium to high density, offering firmer support.
Down Envelopes Are the most commonly used type of down filled cushions. They feature an HR foam core encased in a down envelope, typically made of a 25% down and 75% feather blend. These down envelopes provide a luxurious, plush appearance and exceptional comfort while offering the added benefit of better shape retention compared to a full down/feather cushion.
